Auctions and Open Houses

In this VLOG, Amelia provides us with an update on the state of play regarding auctions and open houses in NSW.

Are Auctions and Open Houses able to go ahead?

With the loosening government restrictions surrounding COVID-19, this weekend will see the stringent restrictions placed on the property market lifted. This means that open homes and live auctions will now be able to go ahead.

What will be different?

Although we are able to return to our traditional viewing methods, we will not be able to return to our old ways quite yet. Auctions are to be held outdoors where possible, and auction houses are to use larger venues to ensure that a four meter square radius is available for all attendees.

Auctions will likely be limited to registered bidders only, and the online auctions will be available to bidders that do not wish to attend. Similarly, open-homes will have to follow social distancing measures. This means that attendees will be limited to viewing times and there will be a limit to the number of people allowed through a property at one time.

Also, it is most likely real estate agents will enforce registrations to allow them to monitor the number of people.
