Selling Property

Is it time for an upgrade? Or time to downsize? If you’re thinking about selling but do not know where to start the following step by step guide will help you through the process of selling your property.

Getting your property ready to market

Before you start preparing your property for sale it is a good idea to have an idea of the realistic price that you will be looking at selling it for. A market appraisal is the ideal place to start and can be done by a real estate agent in your area. Most agencies provide these free of charge and involve them attending at the property to assess the value in comparison to similar properties in the area. They will also be able to advise you on other sales in the area which they have been involved in.

You can arrange this by contacting an agent directly or jumping on to their websites to enquire online. If you are not ready to enter into discussions with agents just yet, you can obtain a free property report from sites such as ANZ Property Profile Reports.

Keep in mind that these sites are quite basic and only give an estimate as to what your property is worth. It is best to speak to a Real Estate who will be able to provide a more detailed appraisal.

It is also time to start preparing your home for future inspections. Have a look at McGrath Estate Agents handy checklist which can assist you in getting your property ready to market. Preparing Your Home For Sale
