Sophia Martyn

Sophia has a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and received the Environmental Defender’s Office Environmental Law Prize in 2023 for achieving the highest result in the unit for the year. Sophia was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2024.

Prior to commencing Southern Waters Legal, Sophia gained 17 years of experience, both in Australia and London, in banking, finance and digital consulting, working in a variety of roles and projects. Sophia is now solely dedicated to increasing understanding, skills and proficiencies in the practice of family law – an area in which she has lived experience. It is Sophia’s wish to ensure that she can utilise her own experiences to help others navigate their separation with simplicity and empathy.

When not working, you will find Sophia spending time with her two children or exploring Sydney.
